2. How did you start your business?
We began by making desserts for restaurants and it grew from there. We still have one of our original clients.

4. What can you tell us to show the scale of your business?
We have 15 full time staff and can cater for events up to 1000 people.

5. What are the best and worst parts of your job?
Best is the creative aspect and fabulous clients. Worst is the long hours and all the behind the scenes stuff, and what it takes to execute and produce an amazing event that the clients don’t see.

6. What was the hardest lesson you had to learn in business?
You cannot trust everyone

7. Did you ever want to quit and, if so, what did you do to overcome it?
Yes, I had some minor health issues a couple of years ago so I took some time off and got better. I also am very good now at having a balanced life. I work hard but I have other interests that keep me happy and fulfilled.

8. What are/were you most grateful for while running your business?
My incredible husband and staff who make things happen.

9. What has the potential to keep you up at night?
I am extremely organised and have lists of lists, which I run through in my head before major events.

10. Do you have any advice for entrepreneurs starting out?
I was given three pieces of advice in the first couple of years:
1. Be careful of the big G – Greed.
2. You are not a bank. Use your client’s money to fund their event.
3. Do not be afraid to charge what you are worth.
4. My own advice to myself: Be a person of integrity.
